Role Overview
Lee-Exco is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Compliance & Safety Coordinator to support our operations department. You will serve as the right hand to the Executive Director, ensuring our fleet remains fully compliant with federal and state regulations and our warehouse maintains rigorous standards for CBP bonded cargo management. Key Responsibilities
- DOT & FMCSA Compliance: Maintain driver qualification files (DQFs), monitor Hours of Service (HOS) logs via Samsara, and track vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure 100% regulatory readiness.
- Fuel & Mileage Tracking (IFTA/IRP Support): Collect, audit, and organize daily driver fuel receipts and state-by-state ELD mileage logs to ensure accurate, audit-ready data for quarterly IFTA filings and annual IRP renewals.
- CBP Bonded Warehouse Operations: Oversee compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, manage inventory intake logs, and ensure secure handling of bonded freight.
- Administrative Oversight: Manage digital filing systems, assist with incident reporting and claim investigations, and support general HR administrative tasks (onboarding and offboarding).
- Process Improvement: Help maintain and update internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety handbooks to reflect current regulatory standards and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Prefer: 1+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain compliance, BUT willing to train for those applying with no experience.
- Technical & Audit Skills: Experience auditing driver fuel receipts, tracking state-by-state mileage via ELD reporting (Samsara preferred), and maintaining organized data logs for audits.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid working understanding of FMCSA regulations and U.S. Customs bonded warehouse requirements.
- Operational Mindset: Demonstrated ability to create and follow structured checklists; comfort managing sensitive data with high discretion.
- Local Presence: Must be based in or near Houston and able to work on-site at our facility.
