Maintenance Worker

The Housing Authority of the City of Torrington has an open Maintenance position for several multi-family complexes. Must possess a range of skills from cleaning to floor replacement to major systems mechanical skills. Organizational and record-keeping skills are a required. Must have manual dexterity and physical capacity to lift cabinets, ladders, refrigerators, etc., bend and kneel for repairs. Make decisions with regard to repairs and emergency situations at a variety of sites. Candidate must be available as needed for overtime, including weekends and holidays. Must have a valid, clean CT drivers' license and a clean police record as pertains to convictions for any criminal activity directly related to or that could impact or affect one's ability to do the job. Good communication skills and patience with people are a must. Position reports to and takes direction from a supervisor.
