Production Worker
Job Description
The Production Worker performs general labor and production tasks in a concrete and masonry plant, supporting day-to-day operations in both the plant and yard. This role involves working on the production line, preparing materials, maintaining a clean work area, and safely handling heavy loads to ensure efficient and consistent production.
Responsibilities- Perform general labor and production work in a concrete and masonry manufacturing environment.
- Work on the production line to prepare, handle, and move materials as directed.
- Sweep and maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the plant and yard areas.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Load and unload materials and products as part of daily production and yard operations.
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper techniques when lifting and operating around equipment.
- Support yard operations by moving materials and assisting with general labor tasks outdoors.
- Adapt to working in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes in both indoor plant and outdoor yard settings.
- Demonstrate reliability by consistently working past 4:00 p.m. as required and maintaining punctual attendance.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain smooth workflow.
- Show initiative and strong performance to become eligible for training on machine operation and advanced responsibilities.
- Experience as a yard worker or general laborer, including prior hands-on labor work.
- Ability to lift and safely handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfort working in a concrete and masonry plant environment that can be dirty and exposed to cold and heat.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors and in a yard setting for extended periods.
- Reliable availability to work a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the ability to work past 4:00 p.m. when needed.
- Capability to start earlier when required, such as 6:00 a.m., while completing the full scheduled shift.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety guidelines, and work effectively as part of a production team.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome if they have prior labor experience.
- Concrete, masonry, construction, landscaping, or related industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience operating equipment or working with machinery is beneficial for future advancement opportunities.
- Comfort working in environments with dust, dirt, and varying temperatures.
- Interest in learning machine operation and taking on more advanced responsibilities over time.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a concrete and masonry plant that supplies materials to construction companies and contractors. The setting can be dirty and is subject to temperature extremes, including cold and heat, both inside the plant and in the outdoor yard. Employees should be comfortable working outside and in industrial conditions, with exposure to dust and heavy materials. The standard shift is first shift, running from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and employees must be able to work past 4:00 p.m. when needed. There are opportunities to start earlier, such as 6:00 a.m., while still completing the full shift. As employees advance into machine operator roles, they may start earlier, around 4:00–5:00 a.m., and finish earlier in the day. The environment is focused on production efficiency and safety, with a practical, hands-on atmosphere typical of construction-related manufacturing facilities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cockeysville, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
