Special Education Teacher - Flushing, New York

Key Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, with preference for previous work at the Pre-K level
• Current New York State Certification in Special Education (required)
• Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and educational teams
• Commitment to an inclusive, student-centered approach
• Ability to create and adapt individualized learning plans

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of PK-age children, promoting readiness and skill development
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual needs and diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support
• Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and data on growth and development
• Participate in team meetings, IEP production, and professional development sessions
• Create a nurturing, positive classroom climate that fosters growth, curiosity, and confidence
