Construction Accountant

San Francisco, CA (Onsite)

$40-45/hr

Are you a construction Project Accountant who thrives in Excel and understands the financial side of projects inside and out? Do you enjoy tracking job costs, reconciling budgets, and partnering with project managers to drive accurate reporting? If you have strong construction accounting experience and can confidently handle billing, WIP, and project financials, this could be a great next step. Responsibilities:

• Process payroll

• Prepare and process billing (progress, time and materials, and AIA), including AR and collections support

• Monitor and maintain WIP schedules, percent complete, and budget-to-actual reporting

• Review and reconcile subcontractor costs, purchase orders, vendor invoices, and change orders

• Support month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate project financials and forecasting

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience, preferably within construction or a related industry

• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, percent complete accounting, and construction billing

• Advanced or strong intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis

• Experience with construction or project-based ERP systems

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
