Location: Charlotte, NC | Schedule: Monday–Friday 12PM–9PM; OT as needed | Payrate: $30/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the HVAC manufacturing industry to find a driven Production Planner for its fast-paced Chiller Production facility.

This is more than a scheduling role—you’ll be a critical link connecting materials planning, material execution, 3PL partners, and operations. Your ability to sequence kits, coordinate inventory movement, and resolve issues quickly will directly impact production efficiency, customer expectations, and the success of multiple product lines.

What You’ll Do

As a Production Planner, you’ll help ensure the right materials reach the right place at the right time. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Execute the production schedule by releasing and sequencing kits for material handlers to pick.

  • Coordinate with 3PL partners and Materials teams to ensure timely kit delivery.

  • Delegate inventory transactions and inventory movements across multiple sites.

  • Drive the scheduling and picking of production kits.

  • Record material discrepancies, coordinate cycle counts, and communicate material expedites.

  • Partner with the Receiving team to coordinate urgent or “hot” inbound deliveries.

  • Track turnbacks to standard processes and conduct root-cause analysis to identify and resolve systemic issues.

  • Monitor production flow and help ensure takt time is achieved to meet planned results.

  • Communicate effectively across teams to quickly identify obstacles and keep production moving.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 1+ year of operations experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work with urgency.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SAP MRP systems or similar materials/production planning software.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or materials environment.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen/continuous improvement.

  • Experience coordinating materials, inventory, production schedules, or 3PL activities.

Pay Details: $30.00 per hour
