Your role involves supporting a high school caseload, tailoring instruction to fit individualized education plans, and collaborating closely with other educators, therapists, and families. Use your expertise within a Comprehensive Day Class setting to encourage student achievement, engagement, and independence.
Qualifications include:
- Active Tennessee Teaching License
- 105 or 461 endorsement required
- CDC certification
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher at the high school level preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, individualized education plans, and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction and support for high school students in a Comprehensive Day Class
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods for diverse learning needs
- Partner with general education staff, support professionals, and families to ensure student progress
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with state regulations
- Create an inclusive classroom environment promoting respect and positive behavior
