Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support consolidated financial reporting and maintain accurate, timely accounting records for our Charleston, South Carolina team. This role plays an important part in monthly close activities, technical accounting research, and the preparation of financial information used by leadership and external auditors. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of consolidation principles, sound judgment in applying U.S. accounting guidance, and a proactive approach to improving financial processes.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including supporting schedules, disclosures, and management reporting content.
• Perform consolidation activities with a high degree of accuracy, including intercompany account reconciliation and elimination entries across entities.
• Support period-end close by creating, reviewing, and posting journal entries while helping ensure deadlines are met.
• Research accounting guidance and contribute to the evaluation of complex or unusual transactions to maintain compliance with U.S. accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting workflows and recommend practical updates to procedures and system-related processes.
• Assemble audit support documentation and respond to requests from external auditors during review and year-end audit cycles.
• Analyze financial data and prepare ad hoc reports or schedules to assist management with decision-making and reporting needs.
• Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives by assessing current practices and communicating recommendations that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience in consolidated financial reporting and month-end close activities.

• Strong understanding of intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and multi-entity accounting concepts.

• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research and apply accounting guidance to technical matters.

• Experience preparing audit schedules and supporting external audit processes.

• Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel in an accounting environment that requires attention to detail.
