Tax Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities
Review and prepare individual, C corporation, S corporation, partnership, and trust tax returns, including loan-out corporations and digital creator entities.
Manage review processes for several hundred federal and state tax returns annually.
Prepare year-end tax projections and quarterly estimated tax calculations for high-net-worth clients.
Coordinate entity-level elections and estimated payments with Business Management teams.
Review and prepare multi-state income tax returns, including nonresident filings for touring entertainers, athletes, and on-location professionals.
Prepare and review international tax filings, including Forms 8840, 8858, 5471, 5472, and related disclosures.
Research complex tax matters and remain current with federal, state, and international tax law changes.
Respond to tax notices from various taxing authorities.
Conduct tax planning strategies for individuals, entities, and business structures.
Manage and mentor junior tax staff, providing training, guidance, and review feedback.
Lead and participate in special accounting and tax projects as needed.
Collaborate with Senior Management, Business Management, and Tax departments to support client needs.
Assist with tax department operations, workflow management, and administrative functions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
Master's degree and/or CPA license preferred.
Prior experience preparing and reviewing income tax returns required.
Experience managing high-volume tax review workloads during compressed filing seasons.
Experience with entertainment business management, high-net-worth clients, or complex individual/entity taxation preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, multi-state, and international tax compliance.
Experience with foreign tax forms including Forms 8840, 8858, 5471, and 5472.
Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and tax software such as Lacerte.
