Travel Contract- Expert Tig Welder

Job Title: TIG Welder - $170/day worked per diem; $30-37/hr; 1st or 2nd shift

Location: Wisconsin (Madison or New Lisbon, WI locations)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding with a focus on TIG processes, working primarily with 20-22 gauge steel and 16 gauge 304 and 316 stainless steel. You will also perform MIG welding on carbon stainless and carbon steel, and you must possess the ability to fit, fabricate, weld, and grind materials accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and MIG welding, focusing primarily on TIG processes.
• Work with 20-22 gauge steel and weld on 16 gauge 304 and 316 stainless steel.
• Conduct MIG welding on carbon stainless and carbon steel.
• Fabricate, fit, weld, and grind materials to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering prints, weld symbols, and follow detailed specifications.
• Utilize a tape measure with precision.
• Wear approved personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, and hearing protection.
• Work in small spaces as needed and lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.

Essential Skills

• TIG welding expertise with 2+ years of experience on thin gauge stainless steel.
• Fabrication and blueprint reading skills.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure and performing assembly tasks.
• Strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to run basic pressure gauges and dial in agitators.
• Mathematical skills, including adding and subtracting fractions.
• Experience in boilermaker tasks is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position operates on the 1st shift, with hours from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including opportunities for overtime. The work environment involves wearing necessary safety equipment and occasionally working in confined spaces. Employees may need to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
