We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a growing organization in the energy and natural resources sector based in Spring, Texas. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, contribute to timely reporting, and support monthly and year-end accounting activities. This position offers the opportunity to work across several areas of finance while helping ensure compliance, operational accuracy, and sound financial decision-making.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger activity, and support the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

• Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and other key records to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while helping maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation.

• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, account analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules for internal review.

• Track fixed assets and depreciation records, and help maintain accurate accounting for asset additions, disposals, and transfers.

• Support inventory accounting by reviewing transactions, validating balances, and assisting with periodic analysis of inventory-related activity.

• Participate in audit preparation by gathering documentation, responding to requests, and helping ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

• Contribute to ad hoc financial analyses and special projects that support operational planning and business decisions.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation practices.

• Experience preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close processes.

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.

• Understanding of basic accounting principles, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
