Special Education Teacher Needed in Elkhorn, WI

Location: Elkhorn WI (Within 10 mi)
Position Type: Full Time Contract (W2) until January.

• In January, position will move to a permanent salary placement.

Start Date: ASAP (~2 weeks from offer pending onboarding)
Pay Rate: $38-42/HR (Depending on experience) then the salary rate for your experience level in January.

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support 4th grade students. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, implement IEPs, and collaborate with families and school teams to support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional needs.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Valid or eligible for Wisconsin DPI Special Education K-12 teaching license
• Knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and special education best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide differentiated instruction based on students’ individual learning needs and goals.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related-service providers, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, reevaluations, and other student support meetings.
• Implement behavioral supports and classroom-management strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and special education records.
• Support students in inclusive, resource, and/or self-contained settings based on assignment.
• Ensure services are provided in accordance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
