The Warehouse Worker safely operates a sit-down propane forklift to move, load, and unload stock for outgoing shipments in both the warehouse and yard areas. This role involves order picking with RF scanners, allocating product within the warehouse, cutting product to size using power saws, and performing general cleanup at the end of each shift. The position requires frequent use of tape measures, regular lifting of up to 50 lbs, and moving or sliding heavier product as needed to support efficient and accurate shipping operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a sit-down propane forklift to move stock and materials for outgoing shipments.
  • Load and unload trucks at the loading dock and in the yard in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Pick orders for outgoing shipments using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory and order fulfillment.
  • Allocate and organize product within the warehouse to maintain an orderly and efficient storage system.
  • Use chain saws or skill saws to cut product to specified sizes according to order requirements.
  • Measure materials accurately using tape measures on a daily basis.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and move or slide product up to 100 lbs as needed to complete warehouse tasks.
  • Perform general cleanup of the work area after each shift to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Work primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and stay until all customer orders are finished, which may extend the shift to 6:00 or 7:00 p.m.
  • Support overtime work after regular shifts and on Saturdays when required to meet customer demand.
  • Work in a warehouse environment most days, with occasional outdoor work to load and unload trucks.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift, specifically sit-down propane forklifts.
  • Proficiency in material handling, including safe loading, unloading, and moving of stock.
  • Experience with inventory tasks such as order picking and product allocation.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for picking orders and tracking inventory.
  • Competence in general labor tasks within a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to operate chain saws or skill saws to cut product to size.
  • Accurate daily use of tape measures for measuring materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move or slide product up to 100 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to work until all customer orders are completed, including extended shifts and overtime.

  • Comfort working in both indoor warehouse settings and outdoor yard or loading areas.
  • Strong attention to safety when operating forklifts and power tools.
  • Reliability in following schedules and staying until orders are completed.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area at the end of each shift.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shifts may extend to 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. depending on customer orders, and candidates are expected to stay until all orders are completed. Overtime is possible after the regular shift and on Saturdays, especially during busier periods. Work is performed primarily indoors in the warehouse, with occasional outdoor work when loading and unloading trucks in the yard or at the dock. The environment involves regular use of forklifts, RF scanners, tape measures, and power saws, with an emphasis on safety and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
