Pay Rate

Fitter Duties and Responsibilities
- Fit and align steel components for hull replacements, tanks, and structural assemblies.
- Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure proper fit and placement.
- Prepare materials, organize workspaces, and ensure all components are ready for welding.
- Assist with cutting and shaping steel using tools such as oxy-acetylene or similar equipment.
- Inspect fitted components to ensure accuracy before welding begins.
- Assist with general Fitter duties, including material handling and project preparation.
Fitter Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must have prior experience of fitting steel in a industrial environment. Must be able to lift and move heavy materials on a regular basis, with lifting requirements typically ranging from 50 to 75 pounds and frequent handling of steel components throughout the shift.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods of time.
- Must be dependable and show up to work on a regular basis. Must follow all safety procedures and always wear proper protective equipment.
- Must work well with others and take directions from supervisors.
- Previous experience in Fitter operations, structural fitting, or similar industrial work is strongly preferred. Candidates with strong attention to detail, mechanical ability, and the ability to work as part of a team will be successful in this role.
