Job Description
A specialty pharmacy in Pocahontas, IA is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join their team for a contract assignment lasting 13+ weeks. This role focuses on long-term care pharmacy duties, providing vital medication management and support to patients in specialized care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage medication therapy for long-term care patients
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in dispensing medications
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to regulatory standards
- Participate in patient education and counseling, as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Iowa Pharmacist License or Iowa Temporary License
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred
- Immunization Certification is preferred
- CPR Certification is desired but not mandatory
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Some weekend coverage required
- Position based in Pocahontas, IA within a specialized pharmacy environment
