Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Based near West Hartford, CT, this full-time school-based position offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will make a meaningful difference.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to be part of a collaborative educational team with a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours. There are two openings, and your caseload will focus on elementary-aged students. Flexibility to split time between two nearby school sites may be expected as you provide essential speech therapy services.

Ideal candidates for this assignment bring a passion for working with children in an educational setting and have at least some prior school-based SLP experience. The district is seeking professionals who hold an active Connecticut license, current CCCs, and are prepared to complete all required district fingerprinting and background checks. SLPAs are not eligible for this role, and upfront licensure is a significant advantage in the placement process.

Key qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current, active Connecticut SLP license
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a school setting
  • Experience serving elementary-aged students preferred
  • Ability to work onsite and commute between two nearby school buildings if needed
  • Successful completion of district fingerprinting and background screening
  • Ready for a virtual Zoom interview
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapy
  • Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
  • Maintaining accurate records and progress notes
