A company in the financial services sector is partnering with LHH to identify a temporary Controller. This is a fully remote role for someone who has previous experience managing a team or organization through a big transition. You will play a big role in getting an organization through a transitionary period and will need to be able to lead a team while handling some transactional accounting work. Professional communication and organizational skills are required for this position. Previous experience working in a remote setting would be preferred. Main Responsibilities:

The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:
- Lead accounting operations and oversee all financial reporting activities.
- Serve as the finance lead for ERP/system conversion projects, ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
- Manage data migration, testing, and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Develop, improve, and document accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
- Partner with IT, business leaders, and external vendors to resolve system issues and drive process improvements.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close activities while supporting conversion-related initiatives.
- Train and mentor accounting staff on new systems, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, audit requirements, and company policies throughout the conversion process.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience leading or supporting an ERP/system conversion or major accounting system implementation.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, prioritize deadlines, and drive process improvements.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
