Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting elementary students with speech-language needs in a collaborative educational environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a positive impact, working full-time (36.5 hours per week) with a manageable caseload of approximately 45 students, all on a single campus near Sunnyvale, CA. You’ll contribute to students’ academic and social success through direct and indirect speech-language services, assessment, and IEP support.
What you’ll need:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license
- Experience in school settings or with elementary student populations preferred
- Strong grasp of speech/language assessment, therapy, and intervention strategies
- Familiarity with IEP systems and documentation (training provided on district’s platform)
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Role responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy and support services to elementary students
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and participate in multidisciplinary team assessments
- Design and implement individualized therapy plans and interventions
- Attend and contribute to annual IEP meetings, assisting with goal setting and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
- Engage in regular consultation with teachers and families to facilitate student success
- Balance both direct student services and necessary indirect work (testing, documentation, and collaboration)
- Participate in training as needed to stay current on district processes
