Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), with pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of fine and gross motor skill development in young children
- Experience working in a school setting and familiarity with special education processes (IEPs, progress monitoring)
- Excellent organizational and data management skills to ensure thorough documentation
- Confident communicator; able to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Comfort with providing both direct student support and consultative recommendations for classroom implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services based on IEP goals, tailoring strategies for each K-3 student
- Monitor and document progress toward OT objectives, gathering data and preparing clear progress reports
- Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to develop classroom strategies supporting student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights on student progress and assisting with interpreting OT data
- Ensure all services and records comply with special education requirements and best practices
- Maintain positive, constructive relationships across the student support team
