Mail Order Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Mesa, Arizona

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This direct hire opportunity seeks a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a specialized non-sterile compounding mail-order pharmacy. The role is based locally in either Gilbert, AZ or West Egg Township/Galloway, NJ. This working PIC position combines hands-on dispensing and patient counseling with pharmacy operations oversight and regulatory compliance responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will hold an active pharmacist license in Arizona or New Jersey, with 3–5 years of pharmacy experience, ideally including mail-order, outpatient, community, or compounding settings. Experience as a PIC or in pharmacy management is preferred. Strong familiarity with state and federal regulations governing 503A facilities is essential. Candidates licensed on the West Coast are highly valued, as this facilitates national expansion of coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately while providing professional patient counseling
• Supervise pharmacy staff and ensure adherence to SOPs, USP <795>/<800> standards, and FDA 503A requirements
• Manage inventory controls, including controlled substances and related documentation
• Address patient inquiries while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
• Oversee regulatory compliance for all serviced states

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license in AZ or NJ (required), with strong preference for additional West Coast licenses (CA, NM, TX, NV, UT, OR, WA, CO)
• 3–5 years of relevant pharmacy experience, including mail-order or compounding preferred
• Prior PIC or pharmacy management experience advantageous
• Familiarity with PioneerRx software a plus (training available)
• Local candidates prioritized; relocation is not approved

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Possible weekend coverage as the pharmacy expands
