Job Description
An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC) skilled in supporting school-aged children, from kindergarten through 15 years old. This position is based near Ypsilanti, MI, providing dedicated speech and language services in an engaging educational environment.
This assignment is set for 37.5 hours per week, beginning September 8th and running through February 1st, with the potential for extension through the academic year depending on school needs. You’ll play a key role in helping students develop their communication abilities, collaborate with educational staff, and make a meaningful impact every day.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) for Speech-Language Pathology
- Michigan SLP license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students in kindergarten through 15 years old preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy and interventions to students requiring speech and language support
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations to determine student needs
- Develop and implement IEPs with achievable goals for speech and language development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions
