Job Description
Help make a lasting impact on young learners by providing occupational therapy services to K-3 students in a supportive school setting near Fairfield, AL. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled OT or COTA experienced with school-based fine and gross motor skill development. You’ll contribute directly to students’ growth by ensuring their individual education plan (IEP) objectives are met with care and consistency.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Current license or certification in Occupational Therapy (OT or COTA)
- Experience supporting fine and gross motor skill development in K-3 settings
- Prior work with school-based OT services strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and special education requirements
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators and families
- Strong organizational skills for consistent data collection and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and/or consultative occupational therapy services tailored to each student’s IEP and unique needs
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to help them achieve their OT goals
- Collect, track, and organize data related to each student’s progress and services provided
- Prepare thorough progress reports and all required documentation for school records and compliance
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate OT strategies into daily routines
- Present and interpret OT findings during IEP meetings, offering recommendations in partnership with the entire support team
- Ensure all services and documentation adhere to IEP guidelines and special education standards
