Job Description
Join a skilled construction team as a Concrete Laborer / Concrete Carpenter, where you will assist with all phases of concrete work, including site preparation, form setting, concrete placement, finishing support, and cleanup. You will work on foundations, flatwork, curbs, sidewalks, and other concrete structures while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Set, align, brace, and strip concrete forms in accordance with project specifications.
- Measure and mark layouts using tape measures, levels, string lines, and other hand tools.
- Set and pull form pins, stakes, and supports to secure formwork.
- Prepare job sites by grading, leveling, and compacting surfaces to required elevations.
- Assist with pouring, spreading, and placing concrete for foundations, flatwork, curbs, and sidewalks.
- Use hand and power tools to support concrete forming and finishing operations.
- Check elevations and verify proper grading and leveling of work areas.
- Install reinforcement materials such as rebar, wire mesh, and anchor bolts.
- Perform concrete patching, repair, and general cleanup as needed.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and tools around job sites.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with foremen, equipment operators, and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in concrete construction, form setting, or carpentry preferred.
- Ability to read and use tape measures accurately for layout and measurements.
- Knowledge of concrete placement, forming, and site preparation techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Experience with concrete carpentry and form setting for foundations and flatwork.
- Ability to read construction plans and blueprints to understand project requirements.
- Experience with layout, leveling, and grade checking on construction sites.
- Skill in rebar installation and providing concrete finishing support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with general labor tasks on concrete construction sites.
- Hands-on experience with concrete finishing and supporting finishers.
- Familiarity with concrete forms, formwork, and setting and stripping forms.
- Experience with concrete pours, including pouring, spreading, and consolidating concrete.
- Comfort working with pin setting and pin pulling for formwork.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse field crew and adapt to changing site conditions.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role working Monday through Friday, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with potential overtime depending on project needs. Work is primarily concrete construction performed mostly outdoors, with some indoor work when available. You will work in the elements and should expect dirty, dusty, and physically demanding conditions typical of active construction sites. Appropriate workwear that can withstand dust, dirt, and outdoor conditions is recommended.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Luzerne, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
