This role focuses on precision TIG welding on gas turbine components made from advanced alloys such as nickel-based materials, Inconel, Haynes, cobalt, and stainless steel. You will set up and operate welding equipment, execute high-quality welds to strict technical specifications, and support production and engineering teams through fixture fabrication and process trials. Responsibilities
  • Set up and install TIG and related welding equipment according to job and safety requirements.
  • Execute TIG welding on gas turbine components in line with defined technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform thorough quality checks on completed welds before confirming each production step.
  • Prepare and confirm required quality documentation for all completed work.
  • Accurately report production time used per step to support scheduling and cost tracking.
  • Set welding parameters, select appropriate consumable materials, and prepare workpieces for new welding process trials in collaboration with engineering staff.
  • Design and fabricate welding fixtures, chill blocks, and purge boxes as needed to support production and development work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to plan weld sequences, fit components, and verify dimensions.
  • Support fabrication activities including fitting, belting, grinding, and use of pneumatic tools as needed.
  • Work across different departments to build a broad skill set and support various production needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment, including appropriate safety footwear.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of hands-on TIG welding experience.
  • Proven TIG welding experience on advanced materials such as nickel alloys, Inconel, Haynes, cobalt, and stainless steel. (Experience limited to aluminum and standard steel does not qualify.)
  • Ability to pass an internal welding test within the first 90 days of the contract.
  • Strong fabrication experience, including fitting and weld preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • Experience working with precious metals in a welding or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding processes in a production setting.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as tape measures accurately.
  • Understanding of basic welding quality requirements and documentation practices.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to work with safety shoes rated to ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999 with I/C (impact/compression), EH (electrical hazard), and SD (static dissipative) properties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with MIG welding, flux core welding, and general weld fabrication.
  • Comfort using pneumatic tools in a production environment.
  • Skills in belting and grinding to prepare and finish welded components.
  • Experience working in a production warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to rotate between departments to gain diverse skills and experience.
  • Flexibility to train on a Monday–Thursday first shift for at least three months before transitioning to an alternative schedule.

Work Environment

This position is based in an AC-controlled production warehouse environment. Work is performed in a hands-on setting around welding and fabrication equipment, with rotation between different departments to build a wide range of skills. Standard schedules include 1st and 2nd shift options, with an additional Friday–Sunday schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., total 36 hours), with rates adjusted to account for a 40-hour workweek and overtime paid at 1.5 times for hours over 40. Candidates must commit to training for at least three months on a Monday–Thursday first shift before transferring to the weekend schedule. Safety shoes meeting ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999 standards with impact/compression, electrical hazard, and static dissipative properties are required, along with steel-toed footwear as part of the dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stuart, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
