Step into a dynamic role as a school-based Occupational Therapist, providing vital support to students near Rockford, IL. Work full time across two sites, serving a diverse caseload determined by your age group preference, whether your passion lies in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings. This contract position follows the school schedule and allows you to focus on one site per day, eliminating midday travel and ensuring continuity for your students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering hands-on occupational therapy services to students in general education and resource classroom environments, with some support to self-contained special education classrooms.
- Collaborating closely with teachers and school staff to craft and implement individualized therapy strategies that foster student achievement and growth.
- Utilizing your expertise in sensory integration and pediatric care, assessing students’ needs, and customizing goals to track measurable progress.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with school and district guidelines.
- Engaging in ongoing communication with families and team members to ensure holistic student support.
We're looking for candidates who bring:
- An active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Illinois.
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations.
- Skills in sensory integration, individualized goal setting, and progress documentation.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
