Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work on both electrical and mechanical assembly lines in a modern power generation manufacturing environment. Assembly Technicians support the build and installation of generator systems and related equipment by performing hands-on assembly, wiring, and installation tasks while following detailed diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical assembly tasks such as hooking up and routing wiring harnesses, completing basic control panel work and installation, and working on breaker boxes.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical issues in breaker boxes and control panels under guidance, using wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Carry out mechanical assembly work including installing machines and engines onto platforms and building platforms according to assembly instructions.
- Use basic hand and power tools to complete full-cycle assembly tasks, ensuring all components are securely fitted and properly aligned.
- Follow detailed blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, torque charts, and bills of materials to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, hardware specifications, and size requirements to select appropriate parts and fasteners.
- Verify that assemblies meet quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper fit and function.
- Work on various stages of assembly projects, adapting to different tasks depending on the current phase of production.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude by troubleshooting simple engine-related issues, such as those found in small engines or automotive applications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines on a consistent basis.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of assembly experience is ideal, including mechanical or electrical assembly work.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, such as experience working on engines, cars, lawnmowers, or similar equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and schematics.
- Experience working with wiring harnesses and performing basic electrical assembly tasks.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly.
- Capability to understand and apply information from electrical diagrams, torque charts, and hardware specifications.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with full-cycle assembly responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and visual instructions accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly or electronic assembly is beneficial.
- Experience in general labor within a manufacturing or production setting is helpful.
- Familiarity with reading and working from bills of materials.
- Exposure to engine installation or repair, whether in a professional or personal setting, is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Olathe, Kansas, encompassing a modern 515,000 square foot headquarters and production center dedicated to power generation equipment. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, with regular use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with optional Saturday hours from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Team members work on diesel and spark-ignited generator sets ranging from smaller units to large systems, following structured processes and safety guidelines in a professional manufacturing setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
