Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the classroom by supporting students with autism as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. Two exciting opportunities are available for dedicated professionals ready to work in either an elementary or a junior/senior high school setting. Structured hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM each school day, with a 45-minute lunch break, ensure a manageable and rewarding routine.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid PA Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with students diagnosed with autism
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff, and administration
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with autism within dedicated classrooms
- Adapt curriculum, materials, and activities to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports
- Develop and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student development and needs
