Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a dedicated occupational therapist, beginning this November. This contract assignment offers a dynamic, school-based environment near Ninety Six, SC, with a schedule starting at three days per week and expanding to four days per week in January. You'll play a vital part in an itinerant service model and enjoy the added responsibility of providing supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric OT best practices
- Capable of delivering services through an itinerant model
- Experience or comfort with supervising COTAs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students across multiple schools as assigned
- Participate in assessments, goal development, and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Supervise and mentor COTAs, assisting with case management and guidance
- Maintain thorough documentation of all student interactions, progress, and reporting requirements
- Adapt and adjust service delivery methods as student and school needs evolve
