Job Description
Location: Fort Mill, SC
Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Pay: $19/hr.
Interview: No interview. Resumes will be reviewed for offer.
Duration: About 3 months (Contract only)
This role involves 100% inspection of assembled products and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and adherence to lean manufacturing practices. Responsibilities include performing measurements, repairs, audits, and documentation, as well as participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect product for defects and take appropriate action as per work instructions, monitor quality for consistency
- Carry out measurements and weight checks
- Inspect doors per instructions with a focus on quality and safety.
- Practice Lean Manufacturing Techniques including 5S+1
- Communicate efficiently with other employees and the leadership team in order to ensure quality product is made
- Read and interpret list counts and complete required paperwork correctly and timely
- Read, understand and follow schedules
- Gather materials as needed
- Assist Management, Maintenance and Quality personnel when troubleshooting material issues
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures
- Use a Tape Measure, Caliper
- Use push carts
- Performs visual quality check of entire stack
- Repair newly and previously identified doors with quality defects
- Repair defective components to create usable raw materials
- Document repaired materials
- Restack doors meeting quality specs
- Push pallets on conveyor as needed.
- Place unrepairable doors in cull door stack
- Sort unrepairable raw materials in cull stack
- Complete reject sheets appropriately for tickets to be remade
- Straighten doors
- Use tools such as glue gun, palm sander, sanding block, chisel, putty knives, clamps, and application of bondo, hot melt glue, touch up paint, and putty
- Communicate effectively for flow of product through the plant
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Knowledge:
- Read interpret ticket
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Ability to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers, convert fractions to decimals
- Read interpret ticket such as door/customer quality specs
- Identify defects
- Knowledge of hand tools such as sanders, hand tools putty knife, sanding block wood chisel
- High attention to detail for defects
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, throughout entire shift.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and sometimes carry up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to work in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop throughout entire shift.
- Ability to work in a wood mfg. setting.
