Bilingual Paraprofessional (Autism Program)
Location: Joliet, IL
Term: 2026/2027 School Year
Hours: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $26.00 / hour
We are hiring a dedicated, Bilingual (Spanish/English) Paraprofessional to support our elementary school Autism program for the upcoming school year. This role focuses on assisting students with mild to severe needs in a structured, supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct instructional, behavioral, and communication support to elementary students on the autism spectrum.
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies under the guidance of the lead teacher.
Utilize bilingual skills to support Spanish-speaking students and facilitate clear communication.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment adapted to varying levels of need.
Requirements
Language: Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
Experience: Strong, highly relevant experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or managing significant behavioral/developmental needs is strictly required.

Licensure: Must hold an active Illinois Paraprofessional License (ELS-PARA) OR be willing to immediately apply for the Short-Term Approval for Paraprofessionals upon an offer.
Note: The short-term approval requires a High School Diploma or GED and is a very quick, straightforward process through the ISBE ELIS system.
