Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) to serve K-12 students in the eastern region of Monroe County for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role offers the chance to make an impact in a supportive educational setting, working with multiple schools from August 31, 2026, to June 18, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active Michigan (MI) license as a COTA or OT (license verification required)
  • Previous school-based experience is mandatory
  • Proven ability to work with students with diverse physical and developmental disabilities
  • Comfortable adapting interventions for a range of K-12 student needs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, staff, and families
  • Flexibility to move between Monroe and Mason school communities as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to K-12 students onsite in Monroe County
  • Implement treatment plans and therapy goals under direction of supervising OT (for COTAs)
  • Collect data and document student progress using school-approved systems
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student development and access to curriculum
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on therapy needs and progress
  • Adapt activities and interventions to fit each student’s unique strengths and challenges
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and school district regulations
