The role of Industrial Custodian is critical in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of a precision CNC machine shop. The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining both the interior and exterior of the facility, as well as the CNC machine tools. This role involves daily preventative maintenance and cleaning tasks to guarantee a safe and efficient environment for production staff.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and CNC machine tools.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of machine tools.
  • Ensure manufacturing floor and exterior areas are clean and safe.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts for transporting and emptying chip bins.
  • Handle coolant and waste disposal.
  • Assist with raw material unloading when shipment driver is out on deliveries.
  • Recycle coolant into barrels and manage waste disposal.
  • Assist in warehouse operations when raw materials are delivered.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in cleaning, janitorial duties, mopping, and housekeeping.
  • Preventative maintenance of machine tools.
  • Forklift and scissor lift operation.
  • Experience in a machine shop or industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • 2 years of experience in industrial custodian roles in similar industries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity with basic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use typical cleaning equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with the facilities team.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a machine shop/industrial setting. The position offers an alternative work schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM, with occasional opportunities for extended hours on Fridays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morgan Hill, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
