School Sign Language Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a school-based setting in the 87305 area for the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities in real time
• Support communication access during assemblies, extracurricular activities, and IEP meetings as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Assist in implementing individualized IEP goals related to communication access
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with school policies
• Adapt interpreting approach to meet the individual communication needs of students

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• State certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification) required or preferred per state guidelines
• Previous school-based or educational interpreting experience preferred
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to pass all required background checks and school clearances
