Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to support a critical access hospital with a maximum capacity of 25 patients in the Taos, NM area. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with the potential for extension, providing valuable experience in a dynamic inpatient setting.
Schedule & Hours:
- Day shifts only
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform order verification to ensure accurate medication dispensing
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth workflow
- Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication management
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient therapy
- Contribute to safe and effective medication use in a critical access hospital environment
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a temporary license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inpatient pharmacy practice
- Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
