Job Description
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This position begins August 24, 2026, and continues through June 14, 2027, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment near Worcester, MA. You'll work full time, dividing your expertise equally between two elementary sites serving 2nd through 5th grade students.
This role focuses on providing holistic case management for a caseload of 25-35 students, including leading IEP meetings and implementing specialized services. You'll engage students through a blend of inclusion/push-in classroom support and small-group, pullout sessions in reading and math — making a tangible impact on their educational journeys.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Active Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification
- Previous experience working as a special education teacher at the elementary level preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Skilled in both push-in and pullout instructional models
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary case manager for assigned students, monitoring and documenting progress
- Facilitate IEP meetings, partnering with families and interdisciplinary staff
- Deliver instructional services in both inclusive and pullout settings for reading and math
- Foster a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment for students with diverse needs
- Effectively balance time and responsibilities between two locations
