Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as an on-site Social Worker for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity is based near Calumet City, IL, and focuses on providing vital support to an intermediate school population (grades 3-5), including students with disabilities and those in the general education setting. With an engaging caseload of approximately 250-300 students, you’ll have the chance to deliver both individualized interventions and classroom-based support, fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required; LCSW preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a school setting, particularly with intermediate grades and diverse populations, is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement evidence-based interventions, both for groups and individuals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families.
  • Thorough understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and current best practices in school social work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for students with academic, behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
  • Collaborate with educators, counselors, and other staff to create and monitor intervention plans.
  • Conduct assessments and participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Offer crisis intervention and counseling as needed.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for families and community stakeholders.
