School Occupational Therapist - Elgin, Illinois

We're searching for driven professionals to serve onsite at two middle schools, collaborating with a passionate team of eight Occupational Therapists who are dedicated to supporting students and staff.

This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and offers both full-time and part-time options. The full-time schedule runs from 7:45 am – 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, but we also welcome candidates seeking part-time flexibility. If you enjoy working with middle school students and making a positive impact, this could be the perfect fit for you. Compensation starts at $43 per hour or higher, depending on experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Occupational Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility)
• Previous experience within a school setting strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of special education services, including IEPs and MTSS
• Strong communication and consultative skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage both initial assessments and reevaluations efficiently
• Team-oriented, flexible, and eager to share knowledge with colleagues

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and re-evaluations to assess special education eligibility
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students
• Collaborate with building-level teams to ensure student goals are met and skills generalized
• Document services, progress, and recommendations in compliance with school procedures
• Support MTSS and IEP processes as a knowledgeable member of multidisciplinary teams
