Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time role is available immediately and continues through May 2027, working with grades 6 through 8. You'll serve as a vital resource for approximately 80 students with IEPs, focusing on their unique educational journeys and fostering growth in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Special Education Teaching certification (TN SPED)
- Experience with IEP management and compliance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for middle school students
- Provide direct instruction, support, and accommodations tailored to student needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborate with a team of teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with families and staff regarding student performance
- Participate in IEP meetings, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance
