Job Description

The Warehouse Worker provides light industrial support in a busy warehouse or distribution environment. This role focuses on safely moving palletized materials, loading trucks using material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, and handling products that may weigh up to 25 pounds. The position requires consistent attention to detail, clear communication, and adherence to established safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move palletized materials throughout the warehouse using approved Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including electric pallet jacks.
• Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely using MHE, following all handling and stacking guidelines.
• Handle, lift, and position products and materials weighing up to 25 pounds as part of daily tasks.
• Follow established warehouse workflows and procedures to support smooth operations and accurate material flow.
• Read and interpret basic work instructions, labels, and documentation to ensure correct handling and placement of materials.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety rules and housekeeping standards.
• Inspect material handling equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks as needed, such as staging materials, organizing pallets, and supporting loading and unloading activities.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack and other basic Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Knowledge of material handling and loading practices within a warehouse setting.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
• Good reading skills to understand work orders, labels, and basic documentation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for coordinating tasks and following instructions.
• Attention to safety procedures and proper use of warehouse equipment.
• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
