Job Description
Bring your expertise to a contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for a school near Shrewsbury, MA. In this role, you’ll work primarily with 3rd grade students, delivering resource room pull-out and push-in instructional services. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through to just before Thanksgiving. You’ll collaborate with a committed team focused on student success in a dynamic and nurturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts DESE Special Education Certification required
- Experience in special education teaching, particularly at the elementary level, is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with resource room settings and ability to provide both pull-out and push-in services
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills for effective documentation and student progress tracking
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to 3rd grade students in both resource room and general classroom
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff
- Maintain accurate progress records, prepare necessary reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment focused on student growth
You’ll enjoy the advantages of a structured weekly schedule, working 35 hours over 5 days each week. Compensation is competitive, with a pay range of $40-45 per hour, paid weekly.
