We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a supportive school-based team in Oakley, California for the 2026–2027 school year.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pediatric OT or a clinician looking to transition into school-based therapy. You'll work with students across multiple grade levels while collaborating with teachers, families, special education professionals, and other related-service providers.
What You'll Do
Provide occupational therapy services to students in a school setting
Conduct evaluations, assessments, and re-evaluations
Develop individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
Provide direct and consultative OT services
Support students with fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-care, and functional school skills
Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
Recommend appropriate accommodations, adaptive equipment, and classroom strategies
Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Current California Occupational Therapist license OR eligibility to obtain California licensure
NBCOT certification or eligibility for certification
Pediatric or school-based experience preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
New graduates may be considered depending on placement requirements
California Requirements
To practice as an Occupational Therapist in California, candidates must be licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy. The standard pathway includes completion of an approved OT educational program, required supervised fieldwork, and successful completion of the national certification examination.
For school-based positions, candidates should also meet any applicable requirements established by the California Department of Education and the local school district.
