Passionate about supporting students’ emotional and academic growth? This contract opportunity is an ideal fit for an experienced School Psychologist ready to make an impact in a PreK-8 environment. Situated just outside Jewett City, this role covers the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 26th through June 10th. You’ll work weekdays from 9AM-3PM, totaling 30 hours each week, allowing you to maintain a great work-life balance while providing essential services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Previous experience with PreK-8th grade populations
  • Skilled in counseling, mental health support, and crisis intervention
  • Competence in conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments
  • Proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
  • Experience in administering psychological tests and interpreting results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with teachers, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling to PreK-8 students for social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Conduct psychological assessments to support eligibility and placement decisions
  • Write, update, and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and meaningful goal setting
  • Consult with educators, administrators, and families to implement interventions that benefit student wellbeing
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all students
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and evaluations
