Job Description

This role focuses on material handling within the shipping and receiving department, supporting warehouse operations through picking and packing, inventory control, and kitting activities. You will work with computers and RF scanners to accurately process orders and ensure products are properly labeled and prepared for shipment. The position requires consistent attention to detail, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs while working in a fast-paced, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle materials in the shipping and receiving department, ensuring accurate movement of products throughout the warehouse.
  • Pick and pack orders according to work instructions, using RF scanners and computer systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform inventory control tasks, including counting, tracking, and verifying stock levels.
  • Use warehouse equipment to pick inventory safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines.
  • Label boxes clearly and correctly to support accurate shipping and inventory management.
  • Assemble and kit parts according to specifications, ensuring all components are complete and properly packaged.
  • Operate hand tools safely to assist with assembly and material handling tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors, demonstrating strong soft skills and effective communication.
  • Participate in cross-training across different departments to build versatile skills and support operational flexibility.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing daily tasks.
  • Attend and successfully complete an interview with supervisors as part of the hiring process.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in production, assembly, or general labor roles within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling, including picking, packaging, and moving products.
  • Knowledge of warehouse picking processes and inventory control practices.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and computers comfortably for order processing and inventory tracking.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly during the workday.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, kitting, and inventory handling.
  • Good soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train in different departments.
  • Familiarity with hand tools used in assembly and material handling.
  • Experience with assembly line work or similar production environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a shipping and receiving department.
  • Exposure to forklift operations or other warehouse equipment.
  • Experience in warehouse picking and packaging operations.
  • Experience with inventory control systems and processes.
  • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new procedures and workflows.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled, very clean warehouse and production environment. You will work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a consistent four-day workweek. The facility uses RF scanners, computers, hand tools, and standard warehouse equipment to support material handling, picking, packaging, and inventory control. The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and safety, with clear processes and expectations to support efficient operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Juliet, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
