English as a Second Language (ESL) General Education Teacher | Granite City, Illinois

This contract position runs from now through June and offers flexibility, with 15 hours per week that can be arranged as either five half days or three full days, according to your preference.

You’ll be working closely with general education staff and English language learners, helping students develop both academic skills and English proficiency in an inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL endorsement required
• Experience teaching in a general education or ESL setting preferred
• Strong understanding of best practices in English language instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Adaptability to work with students of varying backgrounds and proficiency levels

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based ESL instruction to students in small groups and classroom settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support differentiated instruction and integrated learning
• Assess student language proficiency and progress, maintaining accurate records and documenting growth
• Develop lesson plans and modify curriculum as needed to address individual student needs
