Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist working in a supportive school-based environment near Lake Orion, MI. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work across four neighboring schools, serving a diverse group of students with varying speech and language needs. Spend each workday at a single location with no frequent travel between sites, allowing you to focus fully on your students.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- State licensure in Michigan (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
- Prior experience working in school settings or with school-aged children
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and individualized student support
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Collaborative mindset and openness to working closely with teachers, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to approximately 10 students per site, including general education students with speech needs, those with mild cognitive challenges, and students on the autism spectrum
- Conduct assessments, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and track student progress
- Implement therapy sessions tailored to each student’s needs within a supportive school environment
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with district and state requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student care
This onsite contract position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with each assignment lasting until June 2027.
