Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in supporting our production lines by efficiently delivering and removing materials. Collaborate closely with the leads in the paint and assembly departments to ensure seamless operations. Your responsibilities include operating forklifts to transport parts, moving carts and pallet jacks, and assisting other material handlers. Additionally, you will be involved in inventory transactions using a handheld scanner.

Responsibilities

  • Support production lines by delivering and removing materials.
  • Collaborate with paint and assembly department leads to meet their needs.
  • Operate forklifts to transport parts to and from shelves and production lines.
  • Move carts and pallet jacks throughout the production floor.
  • Assist other material handlers and work on the assembly line.
  • Help the paint unload team with organizing units.
  • Conduct inventory transactions using a handheld scanner.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in material handling, inventory, or part picking.
  • Proficiency with RF scanning devices.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Basic math skills for counting, adding, and subtracting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull varying weights.
  • Capability to perform tasks involving walking, standing, and manual dexterity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility, so it can get hot during the summer months. The paint department is air-conditioned, but much of the job involves moving materials in the warmer areas of the fabrication area where the paint line/track is located. Candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $22.70/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
