Step into a vital role supporting students' developmental growth in an educational setting near Hockessin, DE. As an onsite Occupational Therapist working on a contract basis, your expertise will serve both the school environment and students who require homebound instruction. This flexible opportunity accommodates both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time interests, with hours scheduled Monday through Friday. The assignment will begin on August 25, 2026, and continue through June 8, 2027.

Your adaptability as a clinician will enable you to deliver compassionate therapy within a school building and for a small number of medically homebound children. The primary school site will be determined prior to assignment, with caseloads varying throughout the year. This diversity lets you make a real difference in both traditional and specialized settings, sharpening your professional skills and providing essential support where it matters most.

What you'll need:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Delaware (required)
  • Experience working in a school environment, or with pediatric populations
  • Willingness to travel within the district for in-school and homebound visits
  • Ability to tailor treatment plans to a variety of student needs
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with families, educators, and IEP teams
  • Professional resume detailing relevant experience

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and create individualized therapy plans
  • Deliver direct interventions both onsite and, as needed, in students’ homes
  • Maintain detailed, compliant documentation of progress and service delivery
  • Communicate goals and progress with educators, families, and other stakeholders
  • Adapt approaches for fluctuating caseload numbers and diverse student needs
