Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a small group of upper elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a structured setting. This contract position offers a manageable caseload and the chance to deliver truly individualized instruction. You will work closely with a team of educators and specialists, all committed to helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education certification
- ASD endorsement required
- Experience working with upper elementary students is preferred
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs
- Create and implement effective instructional strategies and interventions
- Monitor and document student progress to inform future instruction
- Collaborate with school staff and support service providers to ensure holistic care
- Foster a supportive, safe, and engaging learning environment
This position features a caseload of just five students (capped at six), allowing you to focus your expertise where it matters most. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a consistent routine for both you and your students.
