Job Description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a School Psychologist, serving PreK-8th grade students in a supportive educational environment. This role, based near Mystic, CT, runs from August 26th through June 10th and offers a consistent weekday schedule—Monday through Friday, 9AM-3PM, totaling 30 hours each week. You'll play a vital part in promoting student wellness, supporting academic achievement, and fostering positive school climates.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience providing psychological services within a school setting, especially with PreK-8th grade
- Expertise in counseling, conducting assessments, and writing IEPs
- Strong understanding of MTSS, RTI, and special education processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, focusing on emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
- Administer psychological assessments and interpret results to support eligibility and planning for IEPs
- Participate in the development, writing, and review of IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and individualized student support
- Consult with staff and families to develop strategies for student success both in and out of the classroom
- Maintain thorough and accurate records in accordance with district and federal guidelines
- Contribute to MTSS and RTI initiatives to promote inclusive learning environments
