Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based setting as a Speech Language Pathologist supporting elementary or early childhood students near the Rockford and Belvidere area. This full-time, contract role is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on children’s communication and academic achievements over the course of the academic year.
This position offers 37.5 hours per week, beginning with orientation on August 3rd, followed by student return on August 11th and continuing through May 28th, 2027. With three openings available, you can choose from elementary or early childhood caseloads to best match your passion and skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license required
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) must be active or in process
- SLP-CCC and SLP-CFY candidates accepted
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with students preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Deliver direct therapy services to students in individual and small group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student growth and progress
- Maintain IEPs, report on progress, and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Attend team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
